PayPal - Website Payment Standard

Important: Merchants who have a PayPal Business or PayPal Premium account should follow the PayPal - Express

This will allow the customer to pay using the PayPal using their "Website Payments Standard" system. Once the customer clicks "Submit" to check out, they will be sent to the PayPal site to complete the payment process.

If the customer does not complete the payment process you can login to your PayPal account and request the funds from there. Please contact PayPal support for more information on requesting funds.

Important: Verify that you have received payment before shipping any products.

Any PayPal account will work. However, if you have a business or premier account you can enable the PayPal "Payment Data Transfer" option that will allow the shopping cart to verify payment in real-time.

To enable "Payment Data Transfer":
  1. Login to www.PayPal.com.
  2. Click on "Seller preferences" (left under "Selling Tools").
  3. Click on "Update" for your "Website Preferences" (right).
    • Turn on "Auto Return".
    • Set the "Return URL":
      https://cartmanager.net/cgi-bin/cart.cgi
    • Turn on "Payment Data Transfer".
  4. Once you save the changes you will be given an "Identity Token". Copy and paste the identity token into the cart administration, in step 4, "Payment/Gateway Settings", in the "Cart Settings" section.

Note: Ether a PayPal business account, or a verified bank account is required in order to generate an identity token from within the PayPal system.

Legacy instructions:
  1. Login to www.PayPal.com.
  2. Click on "Profile" (top right).
  3. Click on "My selling tools" (left).
  4. Click on "Update" for your "Website Preferences" (right).
    • Turn on "Auto Return".
    • Set the "Return URL":
      https://cartmanager.net/cgi-bin/cart.cgi
    • Turn on "Payment Data Transfer".
  5. Once you save the changes you will be given an "Identity Token". Copy and paste the identity token into the cart administration, in step 4, "Payment/Gateway Settings", in the "Cart Settings" section.
